I'm hitting 10 years of motherhood by the end of this year and along the way, I made a lot of cartoons about this adventure.
Yes, the kids brought a lot of meaning, love and joy, but let's face it, the struggles are the funniest (for others at least). Here's a selection of my best cartoons about parenting.

I used to wake up my sister to go with me to the bathroom and had her wait outside in case any monsters came for me. I cannot believe I did to her and she was YOUNGER than me!!!

We forget about that last frame....and those are the ones that will stay in your children's finest memories of growing up with you... And that last frame will happen in your kids' homes when they have kids of their own - because they know - that is what parents do.

In the third panel, the dad's shirt kind of looks like a middle finger. At least, that was my first impression. Still not sure what it's really supposed to be.

These are great!Though I don't really agree with the last one, that "nothing really" happens when you're late. Being late means you had somewhere to be at a specific time, like a meeting or an appointment, which means it involves other people and leaving them waiting shows disrespect. Of course there can be a reason, but saying "nothing happens" is wrong in this context, because you're wasting someone else's time that the person will never get back, and I think that is an important thing for kids to learn, too. Respect for other people and to value someone who gifts you their time.

Absolutely! Only because of that, I tend to get stressed every time we're leaving the house. Even though nobody cares if you drop them off 5 minutes late at daycare, I behave as if we're trying to catch a plane ;)

Thanks for those cartoons, I can relate so much - the chaos, the exhaustion, the sleep deprivation, the endless amount of patience that is required. And at the same time all the small and big joys of being a parent. If I may suggest, there's one missing about bedtime, when you breastfeed, read and sing for hours on end until you fall asleep, while you baby and toddler move off into the play room.
